Rain Rain Go Away.....

It's been raining for almost two days straight now, and although I'm glad the snow is melting because of it, the monotonous drone is becoming extremely annoying! Not to mention that I feel like it is 7:00, when really it is only 4.

On to more awesome news! I've been trying for the past 2 days to get Lil Bigz (an amazing hip hop dancer on youtube) 6000 subscribers on her channel. So for the past few days I have been spreading her video links all over the internet. And I am having great success! First Ashlee Nino from So You Think You Can Dance, Step Up, and the Miley and Mandy Cru responded saying "Wuuuuuurk! She's dope! That's the future right there!" Then Channing Tatum posted her link on his twitter, and finally Perez Hilton subscribed her youtube! So on a final note, please subscribe her youtube tcapitule and spread the word about her!

Senior Class Trip to D.C.

Day 1:
Monday morning we arrived at the field house bright and early, dressed in our official uniforms, excited for what the trip would bring. Little did we know, it would be a hectic, yet fun bonding experience. 6:15 rolled around and the buses hadn't showed up yet... Mr. dePadua came in and announced that the buses thought we were leaving Tuesday morning. So after sitting around for an hour, waiting to see if the company could get 2 buses to the field house quickly enough, we were told to get a ride to the train station, because lucky us, we were going to take the train to D.C.! After cramming 80+ people onto the train with all of our luggage, we hopped off at 30th Street station, and sat around for another hour. The buses picked us up at the station after standing outside for 10 minutes, and waiting for the driver to figure out that he couldn't actually fit down the road, and then finally we were on our way to D.C.!

After arriving in D.C. we took our class photo in the rain! Then we went to the Capital Building, where we were all excited to find that you could check your coat in for free! Vernon, one of the tour group leaders, somehow found a way to make us laugh during what we thought would be a boring tour. Saying things like.... "and Anna Nicole Smith even got to lie on honor here..." and "that's a painting of Lindsay Lohan getting baptized after being released from rehab."

After the tour we went to Union Station for lunch, and headed over to the Arlington Cemetery, where we missed the changing of the guard because we were stuck in traffic. Then we headed to check into our hotel. Upon arrival I found out that I was in a room with Nigel, because apparently 18 year olds are married to their own cousins? Yea, that makes a lot of sense. But really they had just made a typo on the sheets welcoming us haha. After changing out of our uniforms and into normal clothes, we headed out for dinner at the Union Station again. But one of the buses had broken down, and there wasn't enough time for us to wait for a new one. So all 80+ of us climbed onto the one tour bus, crammed 4 people to a seat, and off we went. Singing songs like the interfrat, and the alma mater as we drove.

After dinner we went on a night tour of the monuments, sprinting around in the rain to make sure we could see everything in the 20 minutes we had at each stop. When we arrived at the Lincoln Memorial, Blake, Lucas, Ali and I decided to sprint down to the WWII Memorial. After arriving at the memorial, as I was taking a picture, I fell into the pond, and was soaked the rest of the night. After we had seen all of the memorials we headed to pizza hut for a class party. Then off we went to the hotel to get some much needed sleep. We were told to stay in our rooms, because security guards would be monitoring our halls, and if we went out of the room, they would get a teacher to deal with us. At 12:30am after we had our room checked, we finally got some sleep!

Day 2:
For breakfast we had pop tarts and juice provided by the class advisers. (thanks!) Then we headed to the Washington Monument, were we took an elevator up all 500 floors, while listening to a tour guide, who talked too fast, and only stared at Sam the entire time. I very much dislike elevators, but the ride was worth it because the view was amazing! After traveling back down all 500 floors, we walked to the WWII Memorial again. (I had to document where I fell in.... haha)

We then went to the Union Station again for lunch, and then drove to the Holocaust Museum. After the Holocaust Museum we had 2 hours to do whatever we wanted. So Dez, Leigh Ann, Blair, Ty, Warren, Jay, Blake, Ali, and I decided to walk to the White House. There was a stupid tent in the way for the State Dinner, so we couldn't get a great shot of the White House, but at least we could say we stood at its front gate. Then we walked the long walk back to the Air and Space Museum, getting lost a couple of times along the way. By this point our legs and feet were hurting so much from walking, we collapsed into the nearest seats. Then we saw an IMAX movie, and hopped back onto the buses to head home!

We were supposed to arrive at the Maryland House for dinner at 6:30, but due to traffic, we didn't get there until 7:30. All of us starving kids were ready to hop off of the bus, but the drive couldn't find a parking spot, and insisted it would be safer to go to the next rest stop. So off we drove for another 15 minutes to the Chesapeake Rest Stop, leaving the other bus who had found a parking spot behind. We were so efficient that we were in and out of there, and on the road again, before the bus back at the Maryland House had even departed! As we neared Bryn Athyn, the bus broke out into song. Singing Lean on Me and Ain't No Mountain High Enough. All and all, it was a great trip, regardless of everything that went wrong! :)
